Masterclass in Periodontal Disease - International

In Phase 1, delegates will acquire in-depth knowledge on the management of periodontal disease through Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy (NSPT) within the primary care setting. Emphasis will be placed on achieving a high success rate, supported by scientific evidence and the recommended use of relevant products and techniques.

The course will cover essential topics such as treatment planning, executing treatment in clinical settings, comprehensive record keeping, effective communication skills, discussing treatment plans with patients, obtaining valid consent, legal aspects surrounding periodontal disease, recent General Dental Council (GDC) cases, and the evidence presented in those cases.

Phase 2 focusses on planning and managing periodontal treatment following non-surgical procedures, while emphasizing the development of effective instrumentation skills and techniques to achieve successful outcomes.

The course will delve into the scientific evidence behind the design, use, and recommendation of various products and processes. Delegates will gain a comprehensive understanding of the best utilization of ultrasonic scalers, hand instruments, and air polishing techniques, enhancing their practical skills for NSPT.
