Prescribing & Interpreting Radiographs for Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist
This one-day course for dental hygienists and dental therapists aims to provide the underpinning knowledge and skills to enable appropriate referral for radiography, justification of X-ray examinations, selection of appropriate radiographs and reporting of images. Delegates will also be able to confidently prescribe radiographs.
To demonstrate competence, you will need to complete a portfolio of case studies (10 Bitewings and 10 Periapicals), each radiograph prescribed needs to be agreed by a mentor within your practice. You will have 12 months in which to complete the portfolio, information about compiling the portfolio of evidence will be provided during the course. During the course, we will also teach you how to refer, justifiy, quality assurance process, interpretation and writing report in step by step process. This will help you understand how to complete the portfolio later on in your own time.
Post study online support group will also be established to help you complete the portfolio. This course will provide you 7 hours of enhanced CPD.
